# Storm MCP Server with Sionic AI serverless RAG
## Tool List
### Storm MCP(Model Context Protocol) Server
Storm MCP(Model Context Protocol) Server is an open protocol that enables seamless integration between LLM applications and RAG data sources and tools.
Anthropic's [Model Context Protocol](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/introduction) is implemented to use Storm Platform directly on Claude Desktop.
By integrating with Sionic AI's [Storm Platform](https://sionicstorm.ai), you can connect and use your own powerful embedding models and vector DB product family.
You can sign up for an agent on https://sionicstorm.ai to obtain an API token and create a RAG solution immediately.
#### Example Usage

API Key is located in `scripts/run.sh` and input in `export STORM_API_KEY=''`.
#### Key Features
- **Context Sharing**: Provides a standard protocol for interactions between LLMs and data sources.
- **Tool System**: Offers a standardized way to define and call tools (send_nonstream_chat, list_agents, list_buckets, upload_document_by_file, etc.).
- **File Management**: Implements file system operations for file upload, reading, and management.
- **API Integration**: Connects with Storm's API endpoints to provide various functionalities.
#### Project Structure
- **main.py**: Initializes the MCP server and sets up event handlers.
- **core/file_manager.py**: Implements the `FileSystemManager` class for file operations.
- **core/internal_api.py**: Includes API client functions to interact with Storm's REST API endpoints.
- **tools/tool_definitions.py**: Defines tools available on the MCP server.
- **tools/tool_handlers.py**: Implements handlers for tool operations.
- **tools/tool_upload_file.py**: Implements a separate file server for file operations with a custom MCP handler.
#### Architecture
MCP is designed with a three-layer structure between host (LLM applications), client (protocol implementations), and server (function providers). Storm MCP Server implements the server part, providing resources and tools to LLMs.
### Getting Started
To connect the MCP server in the **Claude Desktop** environment, apply the following settings.

1) Open the configuration file
```bash
code ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
```
2) Add MCP server settings inside JSON:
```json
{
"mcpServers": {
"storm": {
"command": "sh",
"args": [
"/Users/sigridjineth/Desktop/work/storm-mcp-server/scripts/run.sh"
]
}
}
}
```
