# Tool List
Danmaku Presentation MCP App is a presentation application that displays comments streaming over PDF slides. Participants can post comments anonymously from their smartphones.
It was created for the presentation "[Let's create MCP Apps](https://speakerdeck.com/iwamot/hello-mcp-apps)", but we received feedback that people wanted to know how it works and try it out, so we decided to make it open-source.
It can be run with MCP Apps compatible clients such as Claude Desktop and MCPJam.

## Usage
### 1. Prepare Comment Submission Form
First, prepare a form for posting comments. You can use Google Sheets to do this.
1. Create a new Google Sheet (file name is arbitrary)
2. Change the sheet name at the bottom to `comments`
3. Enter "post date", "comment", and "color" in the first row of the sheet from left to right
4. Open "Extensions → Apps Script"
5. In the default `.gs` file, paste the contents of [gas/Code.gs](gas/Code.gs) and save
6. Add HTML with the "+" button in "File", rename it to `form.html`, and paste the contents of [gas/form.html](gas/form.html) and save
7. Open "Deploy → New deployment", select "Web app" as the type
8. Change the accessible users to "Everyone" and deploy
9. Approve access and copy the web app URL
### 2. Start MCP Server
Next, install Node.js 24 and run the following commands in the environment to start the MCP server.
```
git clone https://github.com/iwamot/danmaku-slides.git
cd danmaku-slides
npm install
cp .env.sample .env # Paste the web app URL into COMMENTS_FEED_URL
npm run dev # Start MCP server at http://localhost:3001/mcp
```
### 3. Connect to Compatible Client
Connect the started MCP server to your MCP Apps compatible client. Here are some connection examples.
#### MCPJam Inspector
1. Run `npx @mcpjam/inspector@latest` to start MCPJam Inspector
2. Open "Connect → Add Server" and specify `http://localhost:3001/mcp` as the connection destination
#### Claude Desktop
1. Make the MCP server publicly accessible on the internet with `ngrok http 3001` and copy the output URL
2. In Claude Desktop's "Customize → Connector", specify `{output URL}/mcp` as a custom connector
### 4. Presentation
Once connected, present as follows.
1. Call the `present` tool from the client (instruct the LLM to "open the danmaku presentation")
2. Select the PDF file you want to present with "Menu → Open PDF"
3. Tell participants the URL of the comment submission form (web app)
4. Start receiving comments with "Menu → Start receiving comments" (comments will stream if there are any)
5. Send pages with the "←" and "→" keys, and use the "D" key to stream danmaku samples as needed
6. After the presentation, press the "C" key to generate feedback to the presenter in the LLM
