# 🤖 Integrate Claude AI with Salesforce using MCP Servers
A complete, step-by-step guide to connecting **Claude AI** to your **Salesforce org** using the **Model Context Protocol (MCP)** and Salesforce Headless 360 — no code required.

## 🧱 Prerequisites
- A Salesforce org (Developer Edition is free and works perfectly)
- A Claude.ai account (Pro, Team, Max, or Enterprise plan)
- System Administrator profile in Salesforce

## ⚙️ Setup Overview
### Step 1 — Enable MCP Server in Salesforce Setup
1. Go to **Setup → Quick Find → MCP Settings**
2. Toggle MCP Server to **Enabled** and save
### Step 2 — Create an External Client App
1. Go to **Setup → External Client App Manager → New External Client App**
2. Fill in Label, Name, Description, and Contact Email
3. Enable OAuth and configure:

| Callback URL | `https://claude.ai/api/mcp/auth_callback` |
| OAuth Scopes | `mcp_api`, `refresh_token` |
| JWT-based access tokens | Enabled |
| PKCE | Required |
4. Save and copy your **Consumer Key**
### Step 3 — Activate Your MCP Server
1. Go to **Setup → MCP Servers**
2. Toggle your desired server (e.g. `sobject-all`) to **Active**
3. Note your MCP endpoint URL:

```
### Step 4 — Connect Claude to Salesforce
1. In Claude.ai, go to **Settings → Integrations**
2. Click **Add MCP Server**
3. Enter your Salesforce MCP endpoint URL
4. Enter your **Consumer Key** as the OAuth Client ID
5. Click **Connect** and authenticate with Salesforce
6. Test with: *"List the 5 most recently modified Accounts in my Salesforce org"* 🎉

## 🛠️ Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| OAuth fails | Check Login IP Ranges — cloud-hosted AI services must be permitted |
| Consumer Key not visible | Wait 2–5 minutes after saving the External Client App |
| MCP server not in Setup | Go to Setup → MCP Settings and enable it |
| Claude can't see tools | Verify server Status is **Active** in Setup → MCP Servers |
| Old beta URL not working | Update to GA pattern: `/v1/platform/<server>` |
| Session timeouts | Set Setup → Session Settings → Force relogin after to **None** |
