The math lives in the engine, not in agent arithmetic. - **Combined income engine** — `income`: dividends **+** net options/wheel premium in one view — a 12-month breakdown that reconciles to the TTM headline, average over months actually covered (not a blind /12), and a forward run-rate at $/day → $/yr. Premium counts *selling* income only (short puts/calls, covered calls, credit spreads/condors, closes/rolls) and nets the long wings — directional long-option and debit-spread trades are excluded. Robinhood's new in-app tracker is dividends-only; this counts both halves. - **Documents + the tax one-shot** — `documents list` / `documents download`: account statements, trade confirms, and every tax form across all accounts. `documents download --type 1099 --year 2025` pulls every 1099 — brokerage, crypto, and Roth — for tax year 2025 into `local/documents/` in one command (type is prefix-matched; tax-form years are real tax years, so a 1099 issued Feb 2026 files under 2025). - **Orders** — equity and options order history, status (single-order lookup with the instrument UUID resolved to a real ticker), placement, and cancellation — with pending-duplicate dedup and `ref_id` idempotency on every send. - **Portfolio P&L** — `portfolio` (aliases `pnl`/`snapshot`): one call → per-account day Δ + after-hours Δ + per-account buying power, drivers rolled up by underlying in **dollars** across all accounts, with a reconciliation line. - **Recipes** — `recipes "<intent>"`: free-text intent → the one CLI command (and MCP tool) that answers it. - **Watchlists** — list, add, remove, create (writes env-gated; the real endpoint is `discovery/lists/items/`, captured + verified live). - **Margin health** — `margin`: per-account answer to "am I borrowing, how much, at what rate, billed when" — amount borrowed in dollars, interest rate, next billing date, margin available, and buying power with margin; accounts without margin data degrade silently. - **Recurring investments** — first-class list, pause, resume, **create, edit, and end** (all env-gated; create/edit body shapes verified live). - **Account settings** — first-class `settings` group: DRIP (account-wide + per-stock), trade-on-expiration, PDT protection, stock lending, cash-sweep unenroll — env-gated, several verified live. - **Index options** — RH **does** offer cash-settled §1256 index options (SPX/SPXW/XSP/NDX/VIX/RUT), hidden from the search bar but live under `options/chains/?underlying_symbol=` (see `docs/index-options-1256-conclusion-2026-06-04.md`). Futures are read-only (ceres TLS-walled); FX none; commodities via ETF proxies. - **Memory + research** — `ball-knowledge.md` / `trading-log.md` (cross-session brain) and the signal-sourcing doctrine + strategy deep-dives + institutional outlook (the research→decision layer). - **Film-study mode** — `review`: your filled orders paired into round trips with realized dollar P&L, hold time, win rate, and best/worst trades — plus `review note` to attach the lesson to the trade it came from (`trade-notes.md`). Watch your own tape. - **Hotlist** — `hotlist.md` + the `hotlist` command: your ticker watchlist with theses, quoted live in one shot. - **`rolls.md`** — pending cash-account (kosher) roll intents only: the close leg's details + the open leg due next business day. Auto-cleaned when `roll-ledger done <SYM>` records the completion. Checked at session start so a two-day roll survives the session dying between legs. ## Operator-maintained files (fill these out — the agent reads them) The agent's cross-session brain is plain Markdown at the repo root. Fill these in and keep them honest; every finance task reads them: - **`ball-knowledge.md`** — market beliefs, themes, tickers, and source leads (the investing-memory ledger). - **`trading-log.md`** — execution + intent history: what was done and *why*, with the strategy thread (auto JSONL mirror in `local/`). - **`trade-notes.md`** — film-study notes attached to trades — `review` joins them onto round trips by ref (**new**). - **`hotlist.md`** — ticker watchlist + theses — `hotlist` quotes every line live (**new**). - **`local/*.local.md` + `local/tasks.md`** — private, gitignored notes/tasks that never leave the machine. ## Agent Examples The MCP server is meant for requests like: - "Show my option positions ranked by dollar P&L, with the account each contract lives in." - "Why am I down today — which names, in dollars, across all my accounts?" - "Where am I in the wheel on F — and what's the next leg?" *(reads your shares + short puts/calls, classifies the stage, hands back the exact dry-run command — works as pure discussion even with no position)* - "List all recurring investments and tell me which ones are paused." - "Quote a DRAM call credit spread, show bid/ask/Greeks, and build the dry-run order body." - "Dry-run a $50 buy of VOO in my Roth, then place it live." *(the live send dedups against pending orders and carries a `ref_id`, so an agent retry can't double-fire)* - "Check the status of my last order." *(comes back with the real ticker, not an instrument UUID)* - "Open the DRAM stock profile and include market cap, AUM, P/E, 52-week range, borrow rate, and account-scoped buying power." - "Build a cash-account staged roll plan: sell the current call today, then open the replacement no earlier than the next business day after fresh settled-cash and quote checks." **Note:** this is an independent, unofficial project — not affiliated with or endorsed by Robinhood. Use your own account, at your own risk. ## Feature showcase The one-off features that make this more than an API wrapper: **Wheel engine + version scrape + recipes.** `wheel [symbol]` (CLI) and `robinhood_wheel` (MCP — live truth: `tools/list`) read your actual shares + short puts/calls, classify your wheel stage (CSP open, shares uncovered, covered call on, and the rest), flag undercovered short calls as the naked exposure they are, and hand back the literal next-leg dry-run command. Works as pure discussion with no position on. `pnpm version:refresh` uses the CDP debug browser to scrape the live `x-robinhood-web-app-version` header off the login page (no RH login needed) and writes it to `.env`, so the equity-order version gate can't rot. `recipes "<intent>"` turns free text into the one command that answers it. **The kosher roll.** On a cash account, sale proceeds settle T+1, so a same-day roll is not "risky," it is structurally impossible without a good-faith violation. `options roll-plan --cash-account` stages it the only legal way: close today, open the replacement next business day after fresh settled-cash and quote checks. A broker would have just told you no. **Honest portfolio attribution, in dollars.** `portfolio` answers "why am I down" with per-account day and after-hours deltas plus drivers rolled up by underlying in dollars across every account. It is session-coherent: between close and the next open, the option feeds roll their previous-close a session ahead of the equity feeds, and the engine detects the mismatch from the feeds' own `previous_close_date` stamps and re-anchors option drivers via batch daily historicals instead of attributing $0. The output tells you exactly which session window it is measuring. **Every account, every time.** Robinhood's bulk accounts endpoints under-report (live: 2 of 5 owned accounts). The tooling enumerates the full transfer graph, falls back to per-account detail reads for the ones the bulk endpoints omit, and ranks option positions in dollars with the account each contract lives in. No truncated balances, no percent leaderboards hiding a $1,600 position behind a $6 one. **The tax-season one-shot.** `documents download --type 1099 --year 2025` walks the cursor-paginated documents API and pulls every 1099 — brokerage, crypto, and Roth retirement — for tax year 2025 into `local/documents/` in one command, each file named by year, form, account, and date. The year math is done for you: a 1099 issued in February 2026 covers tax year 2025, and the engine files it that way instead of trusting the issue date. The same surface powers `dividends`, which detects each payer's cadence in-engine and projects income in dollars per month, quarter, and year from current holdings only, and `margin`, which answers "am I borrowing, how much, at what rate, billed when" in one read. <!-- Zayd Khan // cold // www.zayd.wtf --> **A knowledge library for agents.** `knowledge/` holds per-topic operating modules (wheel, rolling, multi-leg, Greeks, tax, tax-loss harvesting, dividend investing, position building, market mechanics, accounts, signals, execution safety) plus `knowledge/playbooks/broker-call.md`: the tested end-to-end "reimagined broker phone call" pipeline, from screenshot to classified strategy to dry-run quote to confirmation contract to gated send to order-history evidence to trading log. SKILL.md routes, knowledge/ teaches, docs/ proves. **Context:** Robinhood's own agentic-trading beta is equity-only inside a sandboxed, separately funded wallet. This repo runs the full surface (multi-leg options, rolls, settings, all owned accounts) on the account you already have, dry-run by default, env-gated for anything live. ## API Map and Route Coverage The route map is the core artifact: - **OpenAPI 3.1** — unified and per-surface specs. - **Per-endpoint Markdown** — one file per route under [`api-map/markdown/`](./api-map/markdown/), each marked `Mutation: yes/no`, including [`trading-buy-sell-write.md`](./api-map/markdown/trading-buy-sell-write.md) for buy/sell + options. - **curl** — copy-paste examples for every route. endpoints, we got em all ### Design note: method-aware route resolution This CLI selects routes **by URL *and* HTTP method**, so a single endpoint can carry both a safe read and a gated write (e.g. `GET` vs `PATCH` on `recurring_schedules/{id}/`) and each resolves to the correct risk level. That's what lets the same URL expose a free read and a env-gated write without one leaking into the other. A URL-keyed resolver (route looked up by path alone) can't do this safely — a shared GET+write entry would either bypass the write gate or block the read — so it must split writes onto distinct, write-only URLs instead. The method-aware design is why the write surface here can be rich without weakening the safety gate. ## Getting started ### Requirements - **Node.js 20+** and **pnpm** (`npm i -g pnpm`). - A **Robinhood account** you own, logged in via the Robinhood web app in a Chromium-based browser (Chrome/Brave/Edge) on the same machine — that's where auth is read from. ### 1. Authenticate (browser-free, self-healing) The CLI authenticates with your existing Robinhood **web session** — no separate login, no OAuth app, no password stored. - It reads the freshest bearer token straight from your browser's on-disk storage and writes it to a gitignored `.env` as `ROBINHOOD_BROKERAGE_TOKEN`. - On a cold start (no token) or any `401`, it auto-refreshes once and retries. The route map is dated and test-enforced for a reason; trust live reads over memory. - **Auth is a browser-session token.** It comes from your logged-in web session, lives in a gitignored `.env`, and expires like any session. The engine self-heals once on a `401`; after that it's `pnpm auth:refresh` (and being logged into Robinhood in your browser). - **OTC and fractional limits.** OTC/ADR names reject market and dollar-notional orders — buy AND sell are both supported, but only as whole shares with a marketable limit (the engine auto-limits: buy at the ask, sell at the bid). "$5 of \<OTC ticker\>" is impossible in either direction, and the engine will say so rather than malform the order. - **Options don't quote pre-market.** Equity/ETF options trade 9:30–4:00 ET (index options run ~15 minutes past the bell); a missing pre-market option mark is the market, not a bug. After-hours P&L attribution is equity-only. - **The order-evidence rule.** An order happened only if order history says so (or a position/cash change shows it). A `201`, a UI screen, or an agent log is not proof — `order-status` and `history` are. ### 5. The order tools (`robinhood_buy`, `robinhood_sell`, `robinhood_cancel`, `robinhood_order_status`, `robinhood_buying_power`) run the **same shared engine functions** as the CLI commands — dedup, `ref_id` idempotency, and the OTC guard apply identically on both surfaces — and `robinhood_wheel` gives agents an evidence-based Wheel conversation (stage + next leg + the exact dry-run command). The 06-11 cycle merges the hardening PR and completes CLI↔MCP order parity: first-class `buy`/`sell`/`cancel`/`order-status`/`buying-power` on both surfaces, all driven by one shared engine — pending-order dedup (5-min window), `ref_id` idempotency, the OTC/fractional guard, dead-quote hard-fail, trade logging — plus `order-status` ticker resolution (UUID → real symbol), the `portfolio` P&L + `recipes` intent router from the 06-09/06-10 work, and an error-code reference. The 06-04 cycle added: the signal-sourcing doctrine + Ball Knowledge ledger + Trading log (memory layers), the order-execution-evidence rule, first-class `settings` + `recurring create/edit/end` commands, `options inspect`/`holdings`, the boot-smart operating-intelligence KB, strategy deep-dives (Wheel + rolling, with quant appendices), the institutional-outlook layer, and the index-options/§1256 correction — plus safety hardening (ambiguity guard, account-ownership validation, verb-floor gate, 429 retry). ### 6. It is a research/planning catalog for single legs, covered calls, cash-secured puts, naked short calls/puts, debit and credit spreads, straddles, strangles, butterflies, iron condors, and calendar rolls. Each strategy records the leg roles, payoff bounds, rough Greek posture, Robinhood lookup steps, and an `options/orders/` body template. It supports per-leg expirations through `--param <leg_id>_expiration=<date>`, which is how calendar rolls and diagonal-style roll previews are modeled. `safe-sell-probe` intentionally places the dry-run credit limit $200 above the natural market; it is a control/sanity mode, not a live-trading recommendation. `roll-plan` is the cash-account fallback. It resolves the close leg and open leg separately, quotes each one from bid/ask/mark/Greeks, emits two dry-run single-leg order bodies, and when `--cash-account` is set, marks the replacement leg as not-before the next business day with required fresh checks for settled cash and live quotes. Planner output is still a write-capable order body, so the live route remains blocked by the ROBINHOOD_ALLOW_LIVE_WRITE=1 switch. Treat aggressive or undefined-risk strategies as exact-approval only. They cover net Greek aggregation, Black-Scholes sanity checks, payoff and breakeven formulas, aggressive-vs-non-aggressive variants, the dry-run smoke suite, and the machine-readable `reviewContract` emitted by `options-strategy-plan`. Use them when translating loose requests like "sell a call" or "covered short put" into a precise dry-run order body. ### 6.2 Browser account context — `account_number` routing The browser pass found that some Robinhood web routes propagate `?account_number=...` into API calls and some ignore it. For automation, prefer direct API routes with explicit account fields over trusting a web URL. It emits the tested web account shell, candidate web query/fragment URLs for manual browser probes, deterministic API lookup steps, and a dry-run single-leg `options/orders/` handoff template. The link command does the live read and adds the resolved `chain_id`, exact `option_instrument_id`, option instrument URL, bid/ask/mark/last, Greeks, strategy quote URL, account-scoped web shell, chain-id app/web handoff links, and safe pricing controls. Treat the API lookup as the source of truth: resolve `chain_id`, filter `options/instruments/` by expiration/type/strike, quote the resulting `option_instrument_id`, then build the order body. No universal unopened-contract URL is claimed. Expiration, strike, side, and type URL params are probe candidates until validated in a logged-in browser pass across multiple symbols and expirations. The `chain_id` app deeplink reliably opens the right underlying's chain (device-verified); exact-contract selection still comes from the API-resolved `option_instrument_id`. The output includes description, market cap/AUM, P/E, P/B, 52-week range, volume, bid/ask, options chain id, borrow rate, and account context when supplied. (Cash-sweep *enroll* needs the agreement-sign flow and stays manual; see the capability map.) - Funding, deposits, withdrawals, futures, event contracts, account-type, and margin settings that haven't had a fresh body capture remain route-map/browser-observed — reads are callable; live mutations stay dry-run until the route/body is captured and approved. The capability map marks each as verified-live vs. research.
