# glados-mcp
A local [MCP](https://modelcontextprotocol.io) server that exposes your live
**glados.sh Tasks** (boards, columns, tasks, comments) as tools for MCP clients
such as Claude Code. It talks only to glados.sh's token-authenticated API — it
never touches the database directly.
## Setup
1. Install and build:
```bash
npm install
npm run build
```
2. Generate a token in **glados.sh → Settings → MCP Access** and copy it.
3. Register the server with Claude Code (substitute your real values):
```bash
claude mcp add glados-tasks \
--env GLADOS_API_URL=https://glados.sh \
--env GLADOS_API_TOKEN=gmcp_your_token \
-- node /absolute/path/to/glados-mcp/dist/index.js
```
Claude Code spawns the server automatically each session; there is no daemon
to manage. Rebuild (`npm run build`) after changing the code and the next
session picks it up.
## Tools
`tasks_list_boards`, `tasks_list_columns`, `tasks_list`, `tasks_get`,
`tasks_create`, `tasks_update`, `tasks_move`, `tasks_delete`,
`tasks_list_comments`, `tasks_add_comment`.
Ask things like *"list the tasks in the QA column for my Work board"* or
*"move the auth task to Done"*. To move or create a task you need a `columnId`;
the assistant gets these via `tasks_list_columns`.
## Development
```bash
npm test # run unit tests
npm run dev # run against your .env (stdio; for manual JSON-RPC testing)
```
