# xhs-read-mcp
A tool that allows Claude to directly read Xiaohongshu posts' MCP.
Send a Xiaohongshu link, and return the title, content, author, interaction data, first-screen comments, and images.
## Principle
The Xiaohongshu page HTML contains a `__INITIAL_STATE__` JSON, which includes the post data. The tool does three things:
1. Use curl to request the link and get the HTML
2. Extract the `__INITIAL_STATE__` JSON
3. Parse and return the required fields
No login, no Cookie, no Puppeteer required.
## Usage
This is an MCP server tool, integrated with the MCP service. Refer to the implementation in `xhs_read_snippet.js`.
### Parameters

| include_images | boolean | No | Whether to return images, default true. Pass false to return only text and save tokens |
### CC Side (Claude Code)
The CC side does not need the MCP tool - just paste the link, and Claude can read it using WebFetch.
## Limitations
- Video posts only return text and cover image
- Comments are only on the first screen
- Xiaohongshu revisions may require adjustments to the parsing logic
