## Why You Need It
Claude Code's built-in WebSearch is an Anthropic **server-side** tool. Point `ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL` at any Anthropic-compatible endpoint and your agent silently goes offline.

## Installation
### Step 1: Get an API Key
Go to [Doubao Search Console](https://console.volcengine.com/search-infinity/web-search-exp) to enable the service and create an API Key. **500 free searches/month**, paid by volume.
### Step 2: Add to Your Agent
**Claude Code** (one command):

## Tool Parameters
The agent will have a new tool: `doubao_search(query, count, snippet_length, images)`.

## Background Story
As an AI native coder, I frequently use Claude Code and occasionally switch to Chinese LLMs. I hit a roadblock when searching went dark. Existing solutions had issues: dollar settlements, lack of Chinese content, and unstable domestic connections.
Doubao Search opened up to developers in July. After testing, I confirmed its API was designed with agents in mind — the token count field made it worth wrapping as an MCP.
