# Claude Desktop - Garmin Connect MCP Integration (for macOS)
This repository guides you on how to connect your Garmin Connect health data (VO2Max, HRV, Sleep, Body Battery) directly into your Claude Desktop application using the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
## 🚀 Prerequisites
- **macOS** operating system
- **Claude Desktop** app installed
- **Node.js** (v18 or higher) installed
## ⚙️ Setup Instructions
### 1. Open Claude Configuration Folder
Open your Mac Terminal and run the following command to navigate to the Claude Desktop configuration folder:
```bash
open ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/
```
### 2. Configure JSON File
Open `claude_desktop_config.json` (create it if it doesn't exist) and paste the following structure. Make sure to replace placeholders with your actual Garmin credentials:
```json
{
"mcpServers": {
"garmin-connect": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"garmin-connect-mcp@latest"
],
"env": {
"GARMIN_USERNAME": "your_garmin_email@example.com",
"GARMIN_PASSWORD": "your_actual_password"
}
}
}
}
```
*(Note: If you don't have Two-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled on your Garmin account, this direct setup will work flawlessly immediately.)*
### 3. Restart Claude
Completely quit Claude Desktop (`Cmd + Q`) and reopen it. You will see a plug/tool icon under the chat bar indicating the Garmin connection is active!
## 💡 Example Prompt to Test
> "Check my average HRV, sleep score, and current VO2Max from my Garmin account for the last 7 days and summarize my recovery state."
