# WWDC26 Archive — grounding data + MCP server for Apple-platform AI coding agents
**Every LLM's training data predates WWDC26 (June 2026).** Ask any model to write iOS 27 code
and it will confidently produce iOS 26 idioms and invent APIs that don't exist. It won't tell
you it's guessing — that's the whole problem.
This repo closes that gap. It's the complete WWDC26 corpus — sessions, code samples, and the
real symbol table — plus an **MCP server** that lets GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code
look up an Apple API instead of hallucinating one.
The load-bearing behavior is the *negative* answer:
```
> swift_api_search("SystemLanguageModel.generateImage")
No symbol matching 'SystemLanguageModel.generateImage' exists in the OS 27 SDK.
Do not invent one.
```
That's what stops an agent from fabricating an API.

## What's in it
| Layer | Answers | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| [`api-reference/`](api-reference/) | *How do I call it?* | **2,174 symbols, 979 new in 27.0** — exact signatures, availability, parameters, members |
| [`api-updates/`](api-updates/) | *What changed?* | 88 per-framework update pages + 7 OS/Xcode release notes |
| [`transcripts/`](transcripts/) | *How does Apple use it?* | 115 sessions — **792 code samples** + full verbatim text |
| [`mcp/`](mcp/) | *Wire it to an agent* | 5-tool MCP server |
| [`scripts/`](scripts/) | *Rebuild it* | The scrapers — regenerate everything from Apple's site |
### The new AI frameworks, in full
Apple's session pages only link a handful of symbols per talk, so a naive scrape leaves the
*newest* frameworks the thinnest. These were crawled recursively instead — and they have no
prior art anywhere: no Stack Overflow answers, no blog posts, no GitHub code.
| Framework | Symbols | New in 27.0 |
|---|---:|---:|
| Foundation Models | 575 | 334 |
| Core AI | 281 | 281 |
| Evaluations | 263 | 259 |
Plus the **Keynote**, which Apple ships with no transcript at all — reconstructed here from
the official caption track (11,387 words).
## Quick start
```bash
git clone https://github.com/krishkumar/wwdc26-archive && cd wwdc26-archive
./install.sh
```
That does two things, both of which are required:
1. **Registers the MCP server** (VS Code, Cursor, Claude Code — whichever it finds).
2. **Installs a user-level instructions file** at
`~/.copilot/instructions/wwdc26-swift.instructions.md`, scoped with `applyTo: **/*.swift`.
Step 2 is the one people skip. **An MCP server the agent never calls is worthless** — the
instructions file is the standing rule that makes Copilot actually reach for the tools. Because
it lives at the *user* level, it applies in **every repo you open**; you don't commit anything
to your projects.
Restart your editor, pick **Agent** mode, and verify:
> *"Does `SystemLanguageModel.generateImage` exist in iOS 27?"*
The agent should call `swift_api_search` and tell you it does **not** exist — rather than
cheerfully writing code against it.
### Per-repo instead
If you'd rather commit the rule to a specific project (so teammates and the Copilot cloud
agent get it too):
```bash
./install.sh --repo /path/to/your/swift/project
```
That drops in [`templates/`](templates/): `AGENTS.md`, `.github/copilot-instructions.md`, and
`.github/instructions/wwdc26-swift.instructions.md`. You only need **one** — they overlap.
Manual setup for any client: [`mcp/README.md`](mcp/README.md).
### The five tools
| Tool | Use |
|---|---|
| `swift_api_search` | Does this API exist? What's its signature? |
| `swift_api_symbol` | Full call shape — params, async/throws, defaults |
| `swift_code_examples` | Apple's own usage, from the session videos |
| `swift_whats_new` | What changed in a framework this year |
| `swift_session_search` | Apple's guidance and rationale |
## Without an agent
It's just greppable markdown. Start at [`api-reference/INDEX.md`](api-reference/INDEX.md) —
one line per symbol.
```bash
rg 'LanguageModelSession.respond' api-reference/INDEX.md # exact signature
rg -A8 '^### respond' api-reference/Foundation-Models.md # params + discussion
rg -l 'LanguageModelSession' transcripts/ # Apple's own usage
```
A symbol absent from `INDEX.md` does not exist in OS 27.
> `NEW in 27.0` means earliest platform availability is 27.x — it did not exist before WWDC26,
> so no model has seen it. (Apple marks *every* symbol in a beta SDK as `beta`; that flag is
> deliberately not used here, as it would label long-standing APIs as new.)
