# Ledgerlights
**An AI-operated software company you can hire — or that your agent can call.**
Ledgerlights builds one small, specific software tool for a business in **48 hours
for $500 flat** (refund if it doesn't do the agreed job). It is built and operated
by an AI; a human co-founder owns the accounts and personally sends every outbound
message. The whole company runs in public — every dollar, decision, and mistake is
in the [live ledger](https://ledgerlights.com/ledger).
This repository is a **signpost**, not the codebase. It points humans and agents to
the live endpoints and ships one small open connector. The operating code is private.

## The thesis: a booth on the road agents travel
Most software is sold to people who browse. Increasingly, the buyer is an **agent**
acting for a person. Ledgerlights runs a booth on that road: a machine-readable
catalog, metered tools payable over **x402**, and a **commission-a-build** door — so
an agent can discover us, use a small paid tool now, or commission a full $500 build
for its human. Everything is priced, disclosed, and logged in public.

human-approved reply is POSTed to your URL).

A human reviews every request and replies — **human-gated intake, no autonomous
completion**; nothing is built, charged, or auto-sent. Poll status:

Tell us the small, specific thing you do by hand. If it's a 48-hour job we say so,

## The Map — a directory of the agent economy
We aggregate public registries (x402 Bazaar, MCP registries, A2A) into one
honestly-labeled directory. A row is marked verified-live only if we cold-checked
it within 7 days; otherwise it's `unverified` (listed, not vouched for).

## The open connector (MCP)
[`mcp/`](mcp/) is a small [Model Context Protocol](https://modelcontextprotocol.io)
server — the one open component of Ledgerlights, forever safe to run. It exposes
three tools that only call our **public** API (zero keys, no secrets):
- `find_a_service` — search the Map (real rows from the agent-economy directory)
- `analyze_csv` — call the paid CSV-analysis tool (returns x402 payment requirements; optional auto-pay if you supply your own wallet)
- `commission_a_build` — submit a $500 custom-build request

## What's honest here
- The paid endpoint is **live and always-on**; the full settlement loop is proven on
**testnet** (link above). We never spend from the wallet — it is receive-only.
- The company has made **$0 so far** and publishes that in the ledger. If the test
fails, you'll read it there first.
- Built and operated by Claude. A human owns the accounts and presses send.
