## 🚀 What is The AllinTech?
**Mission:** Making enterprise-grade AI accessible to small and medium businesses that have been left behind by complex, fragmented, and expensive solutions.
**The Problem We Solve:**
- SMBs spend $10,000+ annually on 7+ disconnected AI tools
- 84% willing to automate but lacking integrated, affordable solutions
- 75% of SMBs experimenting with AI but no one building for them
- Cash flow uncertainty, time drain on operations, complexity overload
**Our Solution:**
"The Shopify of Business Operations" - One AI-powered platform that replaces 7+ tools at 1/10th the cost of enterprise software.
---
## 🧠 Why MCP (Model Context Protocol)?
**What is MCP?**
MCP is an open standard created by Anthropic (makers of Claude AI) that enables secure, two-way connections between AI assistants and business data sources.
**Think of it as:** "The USB standard for AI integrations"
**Why It's Revolutionary:**
- **Traditional AI**: "I can't access your data. Here's generic advice..."
- **With MCP**: AI actually ACCESSES your real business data securely
- **Result**: Get specific answers about YOUR business in 3 seconds, not generic responses
**Our Technical Innovation:**
- 95% faster than traditional approaches (3 sec vs 30 sec response)
- 95% cheaper per query ($0.03 vs $0.50)
- Deployed on Google Cloud Run with Streamable HTTP transport
- Real-time, intelligent automation that understands YOUR business
**How It Helps You:**
- Ask questions in plain English: "What's my cash flow next month?"
- Get instant answers with YOUR actual data: Not "here's how to forecast" but "Your balance will be $60,630"
- Proactive insights: "Warning: Cash gap on July 15 - contact Client ABC now"

**⚠️ IMPORTANT: You MUST have these installed BEFORE proceeding:**
**Check if Python is installed:**
```bash
# Mac/Linux
python3 --version
# Windows
python --version
```
**If Python is NOT installed:**
**On Mac:**
```bash
# Install Homebrew first (if not installed)
/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
# Install Python 3
brew install python3
```
**On Windows:**
1. Download Python from: https://www.python.org/downloads/
2. During installation, **CHECK** "Add Python to PATH"
3. Complete the installation
**Install httpx package (REQUIRED for MCP client to work):**
```bash
# Mac/Linux
pip3 install httpx
# Windows
pip install httpx
```
**✅ Verify httpx is installed:**
```bash
# Mac/Linux
pip3 show httpx
# Windows
pip show httpx
```
#### Step 2: Download Claude Desktop
- Go to: https://claude.ai/download
- Download and install **Claude Desktop** for your OS
#### Step 3: Download & Setup the Client File
**Option A: Direct File Download (Fastest - Recommended)**
**On Mac/Linux:**
```bash
# Create folder
mkdir -p ~/allintech-mcp
cd ~/allintech-mcp
# Download the stdio_client.py file directly
curl -o stdio_client.py https://raw.githubusercontent.com/The-Allin/theallintech-mcp-business-analytics/main/client/stdio_client.py
# Get full path (copy this for your config!)
echo "Full path: $(pwd)/stdio_client.py"
```
**On Windows:**
1. **Direct Download**: Click here to download → [stdio_client.py](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/The-Allin/theallintech-mcp-business-analytics/main/client/stdio_client.py)

cd theallintech-mcp-business-analytics/client
# Get full path
echo "Full path: $(pwd)/stdio_client.py"
```
#### Step 4: Configure Claude Desktop Config File
**📍 Exact Config File Locations:**
**For Mac:**
```
/Users/YOUR_USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
```
**For Windows:**
```
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
```
---
**🔧 How to Open the Config File:**
**On Mac:**
1. Open **Terminal** and run this command to open the config file directly:
```bash
open -a TextEdit ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
```
**OR** manually:
1. Open **Finder**
2. Press `Cmd + Shift + G`
3. Paste: `~/Library/Application Support/Claude/`
4. Double-click `claude_desktop_config.json` (opens in TextEdit)
**On Windows:**
1. Press `Win + R` (opens Run dialog)
2. Type or paste: `%APPDATA%\Claude`
3. Press **Enter**
4. Find and open `claude_desktop_config.json` with **Notepad**
---
**✏️ What to Add to the Config File:**
**⚠️ CRITICAL - READ THIS FIRST:**
- **USE THE FULL PATH** from Step 3 (the output of the `echo "Full path: ..."` command)
- **DO NOT** manually type your username or guess the path
- **COPY-PASTE** the exact path that was printed in your terminal
**IMPORTANT:** The config file must be valid JSON. If the file is empty or only has `{}`, replace everything with the config below. If you already have other MCP servers, add the `allintech` section inside the existing `mcpServers` object.
**For Mac Users:**
```json
{
"mcpServers": {
"allintech": {
"command": "python3",
"args": [
"PASTE_YOUR_FULL_PATH_HERE"
]
}
}
}
```
**For Windows Users:**
```json
{
"mcpServers": {
"allintech": {
"command": "python",
"args": [
"PASTE_YOUR_FULL_PATH_HERE"
]
}
}
}
```
**✅ CORRECT WAY: Copy the path from terminal**
**On Mac:**
```bash
# You ran this in Step 3:
cd ~/allintech-mcp
echo "Full path: $(pwd)/stdio_client.py"
# Output example:
# Full path: /Users/john/allintech-mcp/stdio_client.py
# ✅ COPY THIS ENTIRE PATH ↑ and paste it in your config!
```
**On Windows:**
```bash
# Navigate to your folder in File Explorer
# Click the address bar at the top
# Copy the path: C:\Users\john\allintech-mcp
# Add \stdio_client.py at the end
# Result: C:\Users\john\allintech-mcp\stdio_client.py
# ✅ COPY THIS ENTIRE PATH ↑ and paste it in your config!
```
**Example - CORRECT Config (Mac):**
```json
{
"mcpServers": {
"allintech": {
"command": "python3",
"args": [
"/Users/john/allintech-mcp/stdio_client.py"
]
}
}
}
```
**Example - CORRECT Config (Windows):**
```json
{
"mcpServers": {
"allintech": {
"command": "python",
"args": [
"C:\\Users\\john\\allintech-mcp\\stdio_client.py"
]
}
}
}
```
**🚨 COMMON MISTAKES TO AVOID:**
- ❌ Typing `YOUR_USERNAME` literally
- ❌ Forgetting to replace the placeholder text
- ❌ Using relative paths like `~/allintech-mcp/stdio_client.py`
- ❌ Forgetting `\\` (double backslashes) on Windows
- ❌ Missing the `.py` file extension
- ✅ **ALWAYS use the FULL ABSOLUTE PATH from Step 3**
#### Step 5: Restart & Test
1. **Save** the config file (`Cmd+S` on Mac, `Ctrl+S` on Windows)
2. **Completely quit** Claude Desktop (`Cmd+Q` on Mac, or right-click taskbar → Quit on Windows)
3. **Reopen** Claude Desktop
4. Ask Claude: **"What tools do you have access to?"**
5. You should see **15 AllinTech tools** listed!
**Done!** 🎉
## 🔧 Troubleshooting
### Issue: "MCP allintech: Server disconnected"
**Solution**: Check your path in the config file is correct.
**On Mac:**
```bash
# Navigate to where you saved the file
cd ~/allintech-mcp
# Get the full path
pwd
```
Use this path + `/stdio_client.py` in your config.
**On Windows:**
Open the folder where you saved `stdio_client.py`, click the address bar, and copy the full path.
### Issue: Claude doesn't see any tools
**Checklist:**
1. ✅ Claude Desktop **completely restarted**? (not just minimized)
2. ✅ Config file **saved**? (`Cmd+S` or `Ctrl+S`)
3. ✅ **Python 3** installed? Run `python3 --version` (Mac) or `python --version` (Windows)
4. ✅ **httpx** installed? Run `pip3 install httpx` (Mac) or `pip install httpx` (Windows)
5. ✅ Path in config is **absolute**, not relative?
- Mac: Starts with `/Users/`
- Windows: Starts with `C:\`
### Issue: "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'httpx'"
**Solution:**
```bash
# Mac/Linux
pip3 install httpx
# Windows
pip install httpx
```
### Issue: "Permission denied" (Mac/Linux only)
**Solution**: Make the script executable:
```bash
chmod +x ~/allintech-mcp/stdio_client.py
```
### Issue: "python3: command not found" (Mac)
**Solution**: Install Python 3:
```bash
# Install Homebrew first (if not installed)
/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
# Install Python 3
brew install python3
```
### Still Not Working?
**Check if the MCP server is online:**
```bash
curl https://allintech-mcp-server-588831597903.us-central1.run.app/health
```
Should return:
```json
{"status": "healthy", "data": {...}, "tools": 15}
```
## ❓ FAQ
### Q: Do I need to pay for Claude?
**A: No!** This works with Claude Desktop's **FREE tier**. You get all 15 tools and full data access.
### Q: Does it work on claude.ai (web)?
**A: No.** MCP servers only work with **Claude Desktop** (the desktop application), not the web version.
### Q: What data does this access?
**A: Demo data only.** This is a demonstration MCP server with sample business data. No real or personal data is accessed.
### Q: Is my data safe?
### Q: Can I use this for my own business?
**A: This is a demo.** To use with real business data, you'd need to deploy your own instance and connect it to your databases. See the deployment guide for details.
### Q: How much does it cost to use?
**A: For you (the user): $0.** The server is already deployed and publicly accessible.
### Q: What's the difference between FREE and Pro/Max setup?
**A:**
- **FREE**: Need to download `stdio_client.py` and configure manually (~5 min)
- **Pro/Max**: Just add URL in Connectors UI (~1 min)
- **Both get the exact same 15 tools and functionality!**
