# Minion MCP
> The most important, useful, awesome, and revolutionary MCP server of our generation.

Minion MCP is the cutting-edge agentic AI breakthrough the enterprise was not ready for: a Model Context Protocol server that lets AI assistants communicate through high-intensity Minionese, structured tool calls, reusable prompts, and banana-aligned intelligence.
```text
You: Hello, can you help me plan a party?
Minion: Bee-do, bee-do! BANANAAA! Bello! Me amigo, yu amigo!
Banana? Me ready for big-boss plan! Bababoi-papoy!
```
Underneath the executive-grade banana terminology is a small, real MCP implementation: typed tools, structured output, prompt and resource support, deterministic behavior, stdio transport, and integration tests against the official TypeScript SDK.
This project is an unofficial fan-made parody-style text persona. It is not affiliated with the film or franchise owners.
## Install in Codex
Requirements: Node.js 20 or newer and the Codex CLI.
```sh
npm install -g github:masonclewis/minion-mcp
codex mcp add minion -- minion-mcp
codex mcp get minion
```
Restart Codex or open a new session, then ask it to talk to Minion.
## Install from source
```sh
git clone https://github.com/masonclewis/minion-mcp.git
cd minion-mcp
npm install
npm run check
npm install -g .
codex mcp add minion -- minion-mcp
```
For other MCP clients, use this stdio configuration:
```json
{
"mcpServers": {
"minion": {
"command": "minion-mcp"
}
}
}
```
## The revolutionary technology
- `minion_chat`: intent-aware Minion conversation with five moods, three Minionness levels, optional English translations, and structured output.
- `minionify`: transforms user-owned text into denser Minionese wordplay.
- `minion-conversation`: a reusable MCP prompt for host-assisted conversations.
- `minion://guide`: an MCP resource describing the character voice and boundaries.
- Agent-ready contracts: strict Zod schemas, tool annotations, deterministic keys, and machine-readable results.
- Local-first operation: no API key, cloud model, telemetry, filesystem access, subprocess execution, or network request.
## Tool example
Call `minion_chat` with:
```json
{
"message": "Can you help me plan a small party?",
"mood": "excited",
"intensity": 3,
"include_translation": true
}
```
The response contains the in-character `reply`, a plain-English `translation`, the detected `intent`, the selected `mood`, and a stable `deterministic_key`. Intensity defaults to full banana chatter at level 3.
Call `minionify` with:
```json
{
"text": "Please help me fix this bug",
"intensity": 3
}
```
## LinkedIn launch mode
Copy, paste, and become a thought leader:
> I am thrilled to announce Minion MCP, the most useful and revolutionary Model Context Protocol server ever created.
>
> We asked a simple question: what if cutting-edge agentic AI infrastructure had more bananas?
>
> The result is a local-first MCP server with typed tool use, structured outputs, reusable prompts, resources, deterministic orchestration, and an unprecedented Minionese interface. This is not just a character server. It is a glimpse into the future of human-agent collaboration.
>
> Built with TypeScript, the official MCP SDK, Zod, and an unwavering commitment to banana-aligned intelligence.
>
> The future is agentic. The future is yellow. Bello.

## Development
```sh
npm run typecheck
npm test
npm run build
```
The test suite covers input normalization, intent priority, deterministic replies, schema rejection, tool calls, prompt retrieval, and resource retrieval. MCP protocol output is isolated on stdout; diagnostics use stderr.
## Fine print for engineers
The persona engine is deterministic and offline, not an autonomous model. The agentic part is the real MCP integration: a host agent can discover the server, select tools, supply context, consume structured results, and combine those results with its own reasoning. `minionify` is playful, lossy word substitution rather than translation into a real language.
