# Amazon Bedrock AgentCore — Kiro Power
A comprehensive [Kiro Power](https://kiro.dev/docs/powers/) for building, deploying, and operating AI agents with [Amazon Bedrock AgentCore](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/bedrock-agentcore/). Covers all 12 AgentCore services with step-by-step steering guides, MCP tool access, and best practices sourced from the official AWS documentation.

## Prerequisites
- [Kiro IDE](https://kiro.dev) installed
- AWS account with credentials configured
- Node.js 20+ (for the AgentCore CLI)
- Python 3.10+ (for agent code)
- `uv` or `uvx` installed (for the MCP server)
## Installation
### From Kiro
1. Open Kiro
2. Go to **Powers → Add Power → Import from GitHub**
3. Paste this repo URL
### From a local folder
1. Clone this repo
2. In Kiro, go to **Powers → Add Power → Import from folder**
3. Select the cloned directory
## How It Works
When you type keywords like "agentcore", "agent runtime", "agent memory", "mcp gateway", etc. in Kiro, this power activates automatically. It:
1. Loads the relevant steering file based on your task
2. Connects to the AgentCore MCP server for direct tool access
3. Guides you through the workflow with code examples and best practices
The MCP server auto-approves read-only tools (`search_agentcore_docs`, `fetch_agentcore_doc`, and all `get_*_guide` tools) so you don't get prompted for confirmation on safe operations. Any tool that creates, updates, or deletes resources requires manual confirmation.
