# @jolter/mcp-server
The official [Model Context Protocol](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/) (MCP)
server for [Jolter](https://jolter.dev) — a fast, reliable JavaScript runtime
and toolchain manager.
Connect your AI coding assistant (Cursor, VS Code, Claude Desktop, Windsurf) to
the full Jolter documentation, configuration schema, and CLI reference.
## Installation
Run the MCP server via `npx`:
```sh
npx @jolter/mcp-server
```
Or install globally:
```sh
npm install -g @jolter/mcp-server
jolter-mcp-server
```

| `get_doc` | `slug` _(string)_ | Retrieve full Markdown content of a doc page. |

| `get_jolter_info` | — | General info: runtimes, tools, config schema. |
| `explain_config` | `configJson` _(string)_ | Validate and explain a `jolter.json` file. |
| `fetch_llms_txt` | `fullBundle` _(boolean)_ | Fetch `/llms.txt` or `/llms-full.txt`. |
## Available Resources
All 41 documentation pages are exposed as `docs://` resources with
`text/markdown` MIME type. Example: `docs://quickstart`, `docs://reference/commands`.
