# Aeclyra Revit 2018.3 MCP
Aeclyra is an iterative version of SCode: a native MCP (Model Context Protocol) service for **Autodesk Revit 2018.3**, allowing MCP-enabled AI clients to read and operate on the current Revit project through a native loopback connection.
> Only supports Windows x64 and Revit 2018.3 (API 18.3). Not supported for Revit 2018.0–2018.2 or 2019 and later versions.
## Features
- 20 project reading, querying, previewing, and change confirmation tools
- Listens only to `127.0.0.1:48180`, not exposed to the local area network
- Aeclyra Ribbon: service start/stop, tool settings, built-in model conversion to regular models, interactive piping auto-connection
- Built-in model conversion optional regular models, volumes, and adaptive regular model templates, supporting materials and instance parameters
- Piping auto-connection supports point selection/multi-selection and current 3D view profile box sources; determines the target based on the system with the most quantity, and the profile box mode executes with a limit of 250 pipes per batch and adjacent area overlap
- Vertical and horizontal pipes generate elbows and fix vertical pipes when plane axis deviation occurs, only moving horizontal pipes for alignment; only tee rules allow overall movement of vertical pipes
- Provides a one-click Windows installer without requiring a separate Node.js installation
## Installation
Download `Aeclyra-Revit2018.3-MCP-Setup-*.exe` from [Releases](../../releases) and run the installer after closing Revit.
After installation:
1. Launch Revit 2018.3.
2. In the **Aeclyra** Ribbon, click "Start/Stop Service".
3. In Codex's `%USERPROFILE%\.codex\config.toml`, add:
```toml
[mcp_servers.Aeclyra]
command = "C:\\Users\\<WindowsUser>\\AppData\\Local\\Aeclyra\\Revit2018Mcp\\runtime\\node.exe"
args = ["C:\\Users\\<WindowsUser>\\AppData\\Local\\Aeclyra\\Revit2018Mcp\\server\\build\\index.js"]
```
4. Restart Codex and call `get_service_status` to verify the connection.
For the complete instructions, see [Deployment Instructions](docs/DEPLOYMENT.md).
## Building from Source
Prerequisites: Revit 2018.3, .NET Framework 4.6 Targeting Pack, Visual Studio/MSBuild, Node.js 20+, and RevitPythonShell 2018 for obtaining the IronPython 2.7 build runtime. The final installer package includes these runtimes, so end-users do not need to install PythonShell separately.
```powershell
.\scripts\Build-Release.ps1 -Version 0.2.0 -RevitInstallDir 'D:\Autodesk_Revit2018\Revit 2018'
```
The generated installer is located in `release\installer`. The build script packages the Node runtime, server dependencies, plugins, and optional local trust certificates.
## Security
`send_code_to_revit` can execute C# within the Revit process. Use only in trusted local development environments and backed-up models.
