## 📖 What is this plugin?
The jamdesk-claude-plugin works with Claude Code to help you write and organize technical documents. It creates content for Jamdesk sites. This tool links your writing environment with automated systems. You save time by letting the plugin handle the structure of your documentation. It manages file templates, links, and formatting. You focus on the words while the plugin handles the technical details of your site.
## 🛠 Prerequisites
You need a Windows computer to use this plugin. Your system requires at least 4GB of RAM and 500MB of free disk space. Ensure you have a standard web browser installed, such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. You must have Claude Code installed on your machine. If you do not have Claude Code, visit the manufacturer website to set it up before using this plugin.
## 🚀 Downloading the plugin
You must go to the official project page to get the installer for your computer.

5. Follow the steps on your screen.
6. Click "Next" through each window.
7. Select "Install" when prompted.
8. Click "Finish" once the progress bar reaches the end.
## 🔗 Connecting to Claude Code
Now that the software resides on your computer, you must link it to your Claude Code workspace.
1. Open your Command Prompt or PowerShell application.
2. Type `jamdesk-init` and press Enter.
3. The plugin will check your computer for existing Claude Code folders.
4. If a folder exists, the plugin will copy necessary files into your project.
5. If the plugin does not find a project, it will ask you for a folder path. Provide the location where you store your Jamdesk site files.
6. A success message confirms the connection.
## ✍️ Building your documentation
You use this tool by typing commands in your terminal alongside your usual Claude Code inputs. To start a new documentation page, type `jamdesk create-page "Title of your document"`. The plugin creates an MDX file in your project folder. MDX allows you to write text with simple formatting. It also supports interactive elements for technical sites.
The plugin provides a list of standard features:
* Automatic table of contents generation.
* Formatting for code blocks.
* Smart link management between documents.
* Version tracking for your files.
* Theme synchronization with Jamdesk sites.
